Tiperary born Gemma Hayes has long since established herself as one of Ireland’s foremost musical talents. Known for her eclectic blend of singer songwriter folk, lo fi anthemic pop-rock, dreamy shoegazing noise attacks and adventures in electronica, Gemma has managed to carve out a rare musical path.
Her 2002 debut album, Night on My Side, received great critical acclaim from all corners, garnering a prestigious UK Mercury Prize nomination, and she won the Irish Meteor Award for her 2006 Album The Roads Don’t Love You.
Gemma’s subsequent releases, The Hollow Of Morning and Let It Break, have continued to earn her plaudits – and gain her a dedicated band of followers all over the world. In 2013 she was named MTV Ireland’s Best Female Live Artist.
Recently DJ Betoko’s remix of her version of Wicked Game, included on the Above and Beyond Anjuna Beats Vol11 has seen her find a brand new audience in clubs across the Globe.
November 2014 sees Gemma releases her 5th studio album, ‘Bones + Longing,’ on the Cgasing Dragions label – recorded with long time collaborator / producer David Odlum.
